The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories. Under the Rome Statute, all 124 ICC member states are now legally bound to arrest the two leaders if they enter their jurisdictions.

Countries have begun responding to the warrants. Canada has pledged to respect the ICC's ruling, while the European Union's foreign policy chief has reminded all 27 member states of their obligation to enforce it. Italy and the Netherlands have explicitly stated that Netanyahu and Gallant would be arrested if they enter their borders.

Belgium has gone a step further, calling for economic sanctions, while the UK has limited its response to supporting ICC independence. Meanwhile, Turkey and Iraq have urged all nations to uphold the arrest warrants and take action.

The warrants mark a significant development, effectively rendering Netanyahu and Gallant fugitives under international law and severely limiting their international mobility.
